Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP)
Ames Research Center is a field laboratory of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Ames is located in the heart of "Silicon Valley" near the town of Mountain View, which is approximately 35 miles south of San Francisco. Ames specializes in scientific research, exploration, and applications aimed toward creating new technology for the nation.
The STEP provides paid training and work opportunities to high school, undergraduate and graduate students. Students may work full-time or part-time at any time during the year.
Participants in the program must meet the following criteria:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- e enrolled in an accredited high school, technical or vocational school, 2-year or 4-year college or university, graduate school or professional school
- Be enrolled at least half-time as defined by the school
- Maintain a 2.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA)
Preferred GPA : 2.50
Applicants will be evaluated and considered for positions based on their education and experience.
Positions may be filled in, but are not limited to the following areas:
- Business Administration
- Acquisitions & Contract Administration
- Financial Management
- Human Resources
- Computer Sciences
- Electrical Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
The actual grade and salary offered will depend on the qualifications of the person selected and the requirements of the position.
